Job Description

The UOW College Hong Kong (“UOWCHK”), currently also named as Community College of City University (“CCCU”), is widely acknowledged as one of the leading institutions of its kind in Hong Kong, providing quality tertiary education for about 6,000 students. The College offers a wide range of Associate Degree (AD) programmes, a Diploma in General Studies, and International Language Proficiency Tests with preparatory courses. In association with the University of Wollongong (Australia), the College offers top-up degrees for associate degrees or higher diploma graduates. It has two well-provisioned campuses in Kowloon Tong and Kowloon Bay, with library facilities for all students. With about 220 well-qualified and dedicated staff, the College is highly regarded for its committed teaching focus, its rigor in quality assurance and its emphasis on the whole-person development of students. The College has applied for Cap 320 registration status and expects to offer bachelor’s degree programmes in September 2019.

 

Duties
The appointees are expected to provide clerical support for College’s programmes, carry out administrative duties in the General Office in Telford Annex, assist in the daily administrative and documentation work, answer enquiries, assist in library services, maintain student records and perform any other duties as assigned. Shift duty and irregular working hours are required.

 

Requirements
Applicants must have Level 2 or above in 5 HKDSE subjects including Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics or 5 passes in HKCEE including Chinese Language, Mathematics and English Language (at least Grade C if syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007).

 

High competency in computer skills (including MS Office, Chinese word-processing and database management), good communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of responsibility. Having obtained a diploma in library science would be an advantage. The appointee should be well-organized, flexible, adaptable and able to work independently.

 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

 

Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will normally be made on fixed-term contract for two years. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental schemes, where applicable.
