Job Description

We are looking for a high caliber professional to join our Finance & Risk Management function as Commercial Support Manager. Key responsibilities include:  

  • Support Business Lines in commercial negotiations on tenders & procurement contracts specifically, with respect to commercial terms & bespoke commercial structures
  • Propose strategies to mitigate commercial risks, disputes, claims, etc., pertaining to tendering and contract implementation
  • Support in coordinating the CLPe Solutions Commitment Process for both Investment and Contracting
  • Support quality assurance and internal control at various stages of contract management, from the pre-tender, project implementation to post project / tender evaluation stage
  • Review with project team the actual commercial outcomes at the end of the project, document the same and disseminate the learnings
  • Assist preparation and update of company level risk register and follow-up risk mitigation actions with the business lines on a regular basis
  • Recommend training needs, arrange adequate workshops, seminars and courses to staff and promote contract and commercial management skills across the organization
  • Identify industry best practices and capabilities with respect to contract & risk management for CLPe Solutions adoption
  • Suggest new or revision of policies, procedures, practices and computer systems to facilitate streamlining, more efficient business process and business growth with respect to tendering and procurement for the business

Requirements

  • A recognized university degree in Business, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related disciplines with risk/contract management qualification
  • Membership and/or qualification from a professional body such as The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, or equivalent will be advantage
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in Electrical & Mechanical works and projects or construction industry and commercial management
  • Good understanding of the power / energy industry, renewables or infrastructure projects; any tendering experience with infrastructure projects or contracting will be relevant
  • Strong industry network with solid commercial knowledge and business acumen, and ability to facilitate decision-making that involves risk
  • Proven track record in commercial negotiation, disputes resolution and claim settlement
  • Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently, under pressure and meet tight schedule
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
