The Position

 This position is in Hong Kong but will need to travel especially in China.

 The role of Senior Firmware Engineer is responsible for but not limited to those listed above. Comprehensive software development skills on various micro controller systems in the market are also expected.

 Primary Responsibilities

•  To conduct embedded software testing 
• To coach and mentor less experience SQA Engineers during system testing stage
• To review product specifications
• To develop detailed test strategies and plans to verify the system architectures
• To review and document test plans, designs and requirements with cross-functional teams
• To develop SQA plans and schedules
• To architect, implement and manage automated suites of black-box and white-box test scripts
• To Identify product issues and write detailed trouble shooting reports at various the product development stages
• To analyse and communicate the root cause of reported issues and provide solutions peers and product development teams.
• To compile and review documents at various product release milestones to ensure the end-product meets the agreed specifications and complies with the quality standards
• To lead the monitoring of test execution across multiple code branches and multiple platforms
• To research, develop and/or recommend tools for SQA Engineers in test planning, execution and reporting

 Skill Set Specification

 Essential Personal Abilities / Aptitudes / Skills.

•  Solid experience in embedded firmware testing
• Experience in designing test case and developing test strategies
• Experience in automatic test and developing necessary software testing tools
• Experience in using and setting up software-bug tracking system
• Experience in SVN
• Acquired some troubleshooting skills
• Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).
• Ability to work as an individual contributor meanwhile a good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong commitment to get the job done on time
• Be proud of what we have done when the peers and customers have done well
• Possesses personalities of adaptable
• Willing to share insights and good practices with teams.
• Passionate to push new way of making testing tasks as effective and efficient as possible

Essential Experience

•  A minimum of 10-year software testing for Senior Firmware Engineer. A strong candidate with less than 10-year experience will be considered as junior SQA engineer.
• Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and effective communicator to top management, product and marketing team
• Ability to work under time pressure

 Desirable Experience

•  Have worked on wearable electronics such as in-ear phones, heart rate measure devices

 Essential Knowledge

•  Hand-on experience in SVN
• Seasoned users of sport or health oriented commercial APPs’

Education

Degree holders in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
