The Position

This position is based in Hong Kong but will need to travel especially in China.

 The role of Senior Firmware Engineer is responsible for but not limited to those listed above. Comprehensive software development skills on various micro controller systems in the market are also expected.

 Primary Responsibilities

•  To design, develop and validate embedded firmware at architectural level on various micro-controllers
• To upgrade existing platforms and evaluate new platforms for next generation developments
• To Create software design criteria based on system requirements
• To Identify, track and resolve software development issues
• To Collaborate with other function owners to resolve product application issues at different product creation phases
• To Support project execution

 Skill Set Specification

 Essential Personal Abilities / Aptitudes / Skills.

•  Solid experience in embedded firmware development in C based programming languages
• Experienced in writing performance critical code in resourced limited system conditions such as low power, low memory, restricted bandwidth, limited CPU capacity etc.
• Familiar with various communication protocols such as I2C, UART, etc
• Very knowledgeable in RF communications technologies such as BLE, Wifi etc
• Knowledgeable in circuit design and product development cycle in consumer electronics
• Acquired some troubleshooting skills is needed
• Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).
• Ability to work as an individual contributor meanwhile a good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong commitment to get the job done on time
• Be proud of what we have done when the peers and customers have done well
• Possesses personalities of adaptable and persistent on pushing for high standard on own development work
• Willing to share insights and good practices with teams.
• Passionate to push new way of developing architectural design

 Essential Experience

•  A minimum of 10-year firmware development experience for Senior Firmware Engineer. A strong candidate with less than 10-year experience will be considered as firmware engineer.
• Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Receptive to innovation not only at firmware development level but at product feature level.
• Ability to prioritize and effective communicator to top management, product and marketing team

 Desirable Experience

•  Have worked on wearable electronics such as in-ear phones, heart rate measure devices

 Essential Knowledge

•  Hand-on experience in SVN, various development tools such as IAR workbench and RTOS is a plus
• Seasoned users of sport or health oriented commercial APPs’ .

Education

Degree holders in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
