Title: External Affairs Project Manager
Report to: Deputy Group Chief EA Officer
Work location: Hong Kong

Ideal candidate should demonstrate ability to:

• Interpret the market trend, systemic changes of the macroeconomic environment due to regulatory and innovation,  as well as to forecast macroeconomic, market and customers behaviors shift;
• Develop a good knowledge of key stakeholders as well as the ability to assess accurately the current disposition of stakeholders on issues.     
• Prove his/her excellence in public affairs, campaigning and stakeholder engagement;  

Key responsibilities:

• Conducting analysis of macroeconomic environment of the global markets;
• Conducting research in the consumer finance and banking regulation;
• Writing analysis, predictions, position papers and research in the areas of consumer finance, banking, capital markets;                                                                                          
• Preparation of briefing notes and speeches for public and private stakeholders meetings;
• Executing projects on behalf of the Group Chief External Affairs Officer and Deputy Group Chief External Affairs Officer;
• Providing accurate and timely market insights to the senior management, and developing partnerships with technology leaders, fin-tech companies, innovation hubs and universities;
• Supporting development and especially execution of the strategy of corporate affairs of the Group in mainland China, as well as in Asia and European Union;
• Attending business conferences, public affairs, meetings with potential business partners, retail marketing campaigns, and government forums, to build the reputation of the organization and position the company as a thought leader and a successful, growing, innovative organization across region, especially in mainland China;
• Identifying issues, developing positions, international benchmarking;
• Proactive proposal of solutions;
• Quantifying impact on all stakeholders.       

Desired experience and qualification:

• 3+ years working experience in research institution, university, think tank, regulatory, relevant industry journal or in external affairs related position;                               
• Master degree in Economics/Finance or other relevant disciplines. PhD degree is highly desirable. 
• Consultative, collaborative, engagement and influencing skills to be able to speak to internal stakeholders and all levels within the organization and external agencies as required;         
• Proven capability to run research projects in various areas including finance, consumer finance, regulatory affairs and banking;                                                                                            
• Analytical capabilities, proven by successfully written papers and articles in areas of macroeconomics, finance, banking and consumer finance;                           
• Fluent in English & Mandarin with strong writing skills
