Senior Project Manager (Building Services) (Ref. 19052409-E3)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:    

(a) be responsible for the planning and development of the University’s building services facilities and long-term infrastructural requirements in support of its strategic and general development;

(b) manage briefs/performance specifications and monitor the progress and quality assurance of capital and alterations and additions (A&A) projects;

(c) manage and monitor capital projects and A&A works from inception to completion including design and preparation of necessary drawings and specifications, issuing of works orders and purchasing orders, etc.;

(d) assess consultants' proposals for capital, A&A and improvements projects to meet the requirements of user departments;

(e) liaise with service units and user departments of the University, the Government and external bodies on various projects;

(f) collaborate with various Offices of the University such as the Facilities Management Office, the Health, Safety and Environment Office and the Information Technology Services Office in managing and maintaining the quality and statutory standards of responsible projects;

(g) supervise professional/technical staff;

(h) provide professional building services advice and support to other project teams of the Office; and

(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree in Building Services or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering plus at least eight years of solid and relevant experience in mechanical services design;

(b) be a qualified Building Services Engineer;

(c) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua; and

(d) be proactive and result-oriented, and able to formulate/implement plans independently and work under pressure.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
