Job Description

FINANCE OFFICE
 
Assistant Finance Manager (Accounting Operations Section – two posts) (Ref. 19053015-IE)

Duties

The appointees will be responsible for the following duties:

(a) managing the daily operations for payroll, staff claims and the related payments of the University and its subsidiaries, including payment processing and the related tax filing, and ensuring compliance with the relevant statutory regulations, policies, rules and procedures;

(b) performing financial analysis and projection on staffing cost for the management, funding bodies, and special projects such as review of pay level, benefits and salary adjustments;

(c) assisting in the development and implementation of the “Enterprise System for Human Resources, Compensation and Benefit Administration, and Related Resources Planning and Management” and the related payment systems;

(d) assisting in the review and set up of regulations, procedures and processes for payroll and staff claims;

(e) supervising subordinates with ongoing guidance and support; and

(f) performing any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines;

(b) a professional accounting qualification or equivalent;

(c) at least five years of post-qualification administrative and supervisory experience in accounting, finance and/or other related areas;

(d) strong interpersonal and leadership skills to work effectively with different parties and supervise a team of supporting staff; and  

(e) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with good computer literacy.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointments will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
