Responsibilities & Duties (Critical Success Factors):

1. Report to Financial Director Asia and supervise a small accounting team of 3 staff in Hong Kong focusing on GL and close for entities within Asia;
2. Responsible for the full spectrum of Finance function including financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, taxation, treasury of APAC offices, etc;
3. Responsible for timely, consistent and accurate preparation of APAC consolidated financial statements;
4. Ensure accounting practices comply with appropriate accounting standards i.e. USGAAP for consolidated regional reporting and local GAAP (mainly IFRS) for local statutory accounts; lead on co-ordination of annual statutory audits and review of audited accounts;
5. Lead on Accounts Reconciliation and perform Balance Sheet Review to drive accounting accuracy and internal controls
6. Review and co-ordinate with external tax consultants on ensuring accurate tax returns to be filed on time;
7. Lead financial planning cycle, ensuring timely completion and accurate forecasting; provided monthly and quarterly variance analyses and financial matrix;
8. Develop, implement and maintain financial controls and processes to ensure best practices;
9. Drive team performance and ensure a continuous improvement culture;
10. Monitor close the internal control processes; able to identify high risk areas and carry out remedial actions accordingly
11. Lead on ad-hoc projects

Essential qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience;

1. Degree holder in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines with a professional accounting qualification;
2. Big 4 Trained; minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting from a sizeable company with at least 2 years of experience in managerial level;
3. Self-motivated; able to work independently and be a team player.  Ability to effectively deal with challenging situations and be hand-on;
4. Strong communicator - good presentation skills and possesses strong verbal & written communication skills (English & local language - Cantonese & Mandarin);
5. Detail minded without losing sight on bigger picture;
6. Flexible - able to adapt to rapidly changing situations;
7. Proven ability to initiate and follow through with improvement initiatives;
8. Exhibits honesty & trustworthiness;
9. Open to new ideas & willing to challenge status quo;
