Job Description

To perform managerial actuarial works including:

  • embedded value and new business value reporting,
  • business planning, financial projections, financial analysis and budget monitoring,
  • prophet modelling support of the actuarial functions, including new products, statutory reporting and Group reporting,
  • special projects including regular DST, HK RBC and other ad hoc assigned by the Company. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 1. To ensure financial soundness of the Company’s operations, the incumbent should assist appointed actuary to:

 a. Provide accurate liability calculations in a timely manner in fulfilling statutory requirements and in compliance with Group / Regional Guidelines.

 b. Perform investigation on the financial condition in respect of the Company’s long term business including liability adequacy test, dynamic solvency testing (DST) per AGN7, and Group embedded value report.

 c. Ensure healthy solvency position by regularly evaluating liabilities, monitoring the investment performance and managing the asset liability matching position.

 d. Conduct experience studies regularly and ensure the actuarial assumptions are supported by emerged experiences.

 e. Prepare and analyze business plan, and provide advices from actuarial aspects on how to grow the business.

f. Assist in Prophet Modelling for valuation and business planning.

 

Key Requirements:

 

 

  • University Degree or equivalent
  • FSA, FIA or equivalent qualifications
  • 5-8 years working experience in valuation and risk functions in life insurance industry
  • A broad and comprehensive knowledge of life insurance products, financial reporting and risk management
  • Familiar with Hong Kong Statutory valuation basis and embed value reporting
  • Prophet expert including stochastic modeling
  • Mature and proactive are the must-have personality
  • Excellent financial analyzing skills are essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability is necessary
  • Adaptable, flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced and frequently changing business environment
  • Ability to build strong relationships within and outside of the insurance organization
  • Good coaching and leadership skills
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
