Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for managing and monitoring HKRC-funded disaster risk reduction projects in Mainland China as well as exploring and planning for new projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with local partners to implement disaster risk reduction projects in Ningxia, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Yunnan or other provinces of China and take full responsibilities for the projects assigned
• Conduct and facilitate project management and other relevant training to local partners and community people
• Monitor the quality, progress and budget control of the approved projects
• Frequent travel to Mainland China is required

Requirements:

• University degree holder, preferably in Development Studies or Social Science
• 2 years work experience, preferably in humanitarian or social service sector
• Strong skills in project management in social service, and knowledge of humanitarian approaches and methodologies would be an advantage.
• Experience in working in Mainland China and/or a multi-cultural context a definite asset.
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)

Contract period: 1 year (Renewable)
