Job Description

The successful applicant will report to the Head of Finance with the responsibilities to:

  • Oversee all the General Accounting, Financial Report and Corporate Taxation of the Company’s regional offices in Singapore and Australia.
  • Manage monthly consolidated financial reporting, annual audit and taxation, and any other statutory reports required by various regulated bodies.
  • Supervise and provide guidance and directions to the accounting team on all general accounting and AP matters including all bank reconciliations (both client money and house cash accounts)
  • Keeping abreast of changes in financial report standards (both Hong Kong and IFRS)
  • Prepare annual audit including but not limited to gathering all information and schedules for auditors, reply to auditors’ queries, liaison with auditors
  • Timely annual income tax filing and settlement of tax liability for regional officers within the Group
  • Ensure compliance to all regulatory and governmental bodies (CIB in Hong Kong, FCA in UK, ASIC in Australia, CIRC in PRC and Ministry of Finance in Taiwan) at all times
  • Review internal processes and controls and recommend changes where necessary to ensure compliances especially on those non-negotiable controls as required by Group’s Internal Audit Department
  • Ensure the process of settlement to/collection from underwriters are done smoothly and in a timely manner
  • Monitor month-end closing in the system (Global) done by Credit Control team
  • Provide guidelines and directions to Credit Control team in resolving accounting entries in the system (Global)
  • Manage other ad hoc projects or assignments as required

 The job will require the individual to possess:  

  • University graduate in Finance or Accounting with Professional Accounting Qualification
  • Big 4 training and at least 7 years’ working experience preferably within insurance/financial services with finance/accountancy function
  • Familiar with SUN Accounting system and Unit 4 will be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English and Cantonese, Putonghua is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Officer applications, especially MS Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with good customer-service attitude
  • A good team player and able to lead and inspire team members
