Responsibilities:

(1)      Lead the group function of R&D for Soy, Sauces and Frozen Foods, contribute to strategic planning and development of products and technologies to accelerate company’s overall performance

(2)      Product Development:

• Conduct iterative research and closely work with sales & marketing team and external users to develop the new products and products renovation
• Test the product feature in the actual application of the products
• Lead and manage test to validate or modify formulae and actual production processing procedure to develop final specification of the finished products and reproducible production process
• Ensure the product development meeting the regulatory requirement
• Ensure a successful start up in actual production

(3)      Cost, quality and safety Improvements:

• Support procurement and production team to validate, to confirm, and to implement alternative ingredients, vendors, formula and process changes in order to improve the cost, production efficiency, yield, quality and safety, and changes of regulatory requirement
• Also generate the cost and process improvement initiatives

(4)      Internal Product Communication

• Provide the product feature and application knowledge to sales and marketing team

(5)      External Product Communication

• Lead a chef to help sales & marketing team to communicate and provide solution to the B to B customer

(6)      Support to and evaluation of Co-packer

• Work with procurement team and supply chain team on co-packer evaluation and provide the necessary support to ensure the right formula and production process in copackers

(7)      R&D Budget Control

(8)      Talent Development in R&D team: develop the professional R&D personnel in the company

Requirements:

• University graduate in Food Science, Nutrition or related disciplines with 8 years of solid R&D experiences in food manufacturing industry, team leading role is preferred
• Familiar with soy fermentation process, sterilization, liquid and semi-liquid filling and also frozen food production process
• Experienced in cooking and food property of raw materials
• Knowledge in theoretical food properties e.g. starch / flavor, sensory analysis, food safety, heat treatment, etc
• Good understanding of technical standards and regulatory requirements, QMS and SOP design
• Strong business acumen, with excellent communication skills at all levels
• Computer literate, fluent in English and Mandarin
