  • Lead a large country wide operations team across Hong Kong and Macau to effectively deliver Facilities Management services in ~1700 retail stores across 4 regions. Manage day-to-day operations, whilst also taking a long-term view to create sustainable value. This includes the development of strategies and business plans, planning for capital requirements, financial management, compliance, and ensuring that maintenance works meet the requirements of our client. The role is key to building and maintaining strong relationships with brand leads and key City stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in a professional and competent manner and develop strong working relationships within City and with the client's team. 
  • Embed compliance and legislative requirements into business practices across Hong Kong and Macau.
  • Ensure the operations team follows company policies and procedures, legislation, regulations, standards and industry codes.
  • Manage compliance incidents and implement improvement programs.
  • Ensure 100% compliance through audits across all brands (contractual, safety, risk assessment, legislative etc.).
  • Participate in clients Retail Support Compliance Programs.
  • Work closely with the finance team to develop yearly OPEX and CAPEX budgets for all brands.
  • Manage the allocated budget (OPEX and CAPEX), ensuring services are delivered within budget and meet contracted KPIs.
  • Assist in developing budgets for maintenance.
  • Assist in developing enhancement CAPEX projects designed to create efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Review financial reports and develop initiatives to improve business performance.
  • Work with the Country Manager/Team to address issues highlighted in Performance vs Budget and Exception Reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis reports to assist management in understanding business performance.
  • Build key relationships with brand leads and across internal functions. Provide advice and support for in store operational functions.
  • Support regional and area teams in disaster circumstances such as typhoon/flooding/fire etc., ensuring that team members and contractors are supported and coordinated effectively.
  • Ensure preventative, comprehensive and predictive maintenance are delivered as specified in commercial agreements.
  • Manage the performance of alliance contractors working within client stores to ensure performance against contracted and maintenance work, conducting regular meetings with key contractors.
  • Provide effective liaison and support to client, including Store Development, Retail support, Projects, Risk Management, Operations, Health & Safety, Compliance and Loss Prevention.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry and market trends to help the company respond to change and shape the future. Think beyond the day-to-day, taking a long-term, big-picture view of the business. Lead the team to pursue opportunities that will create sustainable value.
  • Develop strategies to address issues highlighted in financial KPI Exception Reporting across all brands.
  • Forecast the operational capital requirements and develop associated business and execution plans to enable the business to effectively forecast and invest.
  • In conjunction with the operations team, develop and implement strategies to drive continuous improvements in maintenance and energy and develop programs to address key concerns.
  • Lead the review of asset performance, and develop maintenance programs that contribute to the development and future proofing of store operations and assets.
  • Actively participate in managing and maximizing capital assets, including working assets and inventory assets.
  • Manage landlord and property related issues through key contacts to deliver fully operational and safe store environments, providing detailed reporting, direction and support for maintenance in stores for all brands.
  • Identify and recommend process and procedural improvements.
  • Build a cohesive leadership team that drives the achievement of business goals. Instil a common mindset and team spirit across the department, working effectively with other leaders throughout the company to create a culture that enables cross-functional teamwork.
  • Lead a high-performing team where team members are motivated to achieve results in difficult circumstances. Eliminate obstacles that affect business and individual performance.
  • Maintain a strong health and safety culture, considering health and safety issues resulting from business changes.
  • Ensure that qualified successors are identified and ready for key team roles. Foster an environment that encourages and enables others to build skills and develop their careers.
  • Completes team members’ annual performance reviews.

Requirement

  • Degree in either Mechanical Engineering, Commerce or Business, Electrical/Refrigeration Trade Qualification, or 10 years plus industry experience in the Retail Services sector.
  • Experience in leading a services team - Essential.
  • Strong business acumen capabilities, including the management of business financials and compliance issues.
  • Proficient in preparing and managing Capital and Operating Expenditure budgets.
  • Previous experience in the Facilities Management industry. - Desirable.
  • Drive the importance of respect of all team members across the City team.
  • The desire to help create, maintain and promote a high performing team and continually assist our team members is mandatory.
