The Teacher Assistant supports and assists the Middle School Instrumental (Band/Strings) program which includes daily clerical and administrative functions, organizing musical activities, and set-ups for classroom and performances. S/he needs to periodically assist and facilitate small ensemble rehearsing groups of young musicians.

Requirements:

• Strong English written and verbal skills, Cantonese and Mandarin language ability a plus;
• Certificate in teaching assistant or other related courses would be ideal;
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role;
• Classroom experience with assigned age students preferred;
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to support classroom team;
• Ability to work closely with lead teacher;
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
• Instrumental music training/background and ability to play the piano preferred;
• Ability to exhibit respect and appreciation for diverse cultures, languages and religious traditions.
• Teacher qualifications a plus
