Responsibilities

• Oversees (fully accountable, reviews and approves) all aspects of accounting of Wheelock Group Accounts including all financial & general accounting, management accounting and taxation functions of WAC and WPL.  Identifies areas that need process improvement within accounting or the company; evaluates alternatives, proposes and implements changes to achieve new efficiencies.  Establishes and maintains accounting processes and procedures which comply with HKFRS, tax requirements, listing SFC requirements and rules.
• Project leader to drive financial process workflow review and implementation of new accounting system
• Handle corporate finance initiatives including M&A, financial advisory and debt financing activities
• Prepares, reviews and approves all financial information in Interim and Annual reports of Wheelock for publication and ensure all statutory and regulatory rules are complied with.
• Responsible for ensuring appropriate Internal Control procedures of Wheelock Group Accounts Department are properly documented and executed.  Maintains and establishes documented internal controls, policies & procedures.
• Reviews and approves Tax matters prior to providing to the tax authority.  Interprets tax rules, prepare tax planning and ensure compliance.
• Manages the entire Group Accounts team to include training, monitoring performance issues, reviews staff projects to ensure work accuracy and departmental deadlines are achieved.
• Assist in ad-hoc project(s) when assigned

Requirements

• University graduate in Accounting or related discipline
• Qualified accountant with HKICPA/ACCA/CPA or related professional qualification
• At least 15 years of work experience in Accounting & Financial accounting field with not less than 8 years as managerial role
• Experience in managing listed company’s group accounts and managing a team.  Experience in Property developer essential.
• Detailed, organized, visionary, able to lead, coach and manage team.   Risk sensitive, always look for continuous improvement.
• Confident to articulate ideas clearly, concisely & effectively at top / senior management level and to external contacts.
• Mature, self-motivated, deadline-driven and comfortable working under pressure and tight deadlines
• Excellent communication, organization and analytical skills
• Competent in MS Windows applications and financial reporting systems
• Advanced Excel and proficient in Word.  Experience in enterprise accounting systems (Oracle, Sun, Flex etc).  Strong & accurate in numbers.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Cantonese, English and Mandarin
