Job Description

The mission of the Legislative Council Secretariat is to provide efficient administrative, secretariat and research support for the Legislative Council, enhance community understanding of the activities of the Council and ensure an effective avenue for redress. The Secretariat is looking for high calibre individuals to fill the position of Public Information Officer.

 

Main duties

The main duties of a Public Information Officer include:

(a)    managing and enhancing the visit programmes of the Legislative Council ("LegCo") Complex;

(b)    coordinating and servicing Members' meetings with visiting delegations;

(c)    developing new souvenirs for and managing the operation of the Souvenir Shop in the LegCo Complex;

(d)    overseeing the reception and booking services;

(e)    assisting in the development of education programmes and resources for students and the public;

(f)     maintaining and enhancing the education facilities for visitors of the LegCo Complex;

(g)    preparing press releases related to Council business and activities and facilitating respective media coverage; and

(h)    assisting in press briefings and handling press and public enquiries.

 

Requirements

Candidates should:

(a)    have a recognized university degree;

(b)    have at least 6 years' working experience in visitor and education services, public relations and/or journalism. Relevant experience in non-profit-making organizations will be a definite asset;

(c)    be a team player with very good analytical, communication and supervisory skills, and be able to work independently and under pressure;

(d)    have excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English, preferably with good command of Putonghua; and

(e)    be willing to work outside normal office hours, including weekends and public holidays.

 

The Secretariat may devise further criteria to shortlist applicants. Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend a written test.

 

Remuneration

The starting salary of this position is $45,155 per month (increasing by 5 annual increments to $56,810). A monthly cash allowance applicable to the rank of Public Information Officer on the date of appointment (the current rate is $1,105 per month) is also payable. The successful candidate will be appointed on three-year agreement terms subject to renewal upon satisfactory completion of service, at which the appointee will be eligible for an end-of-agreement gratuity. The gratuity, when added together with the employer's contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme, is equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the agreement period. Fringe benefits include paid leave as well as medical and dental benefits.

主要職責

公共資訊主任的主要職責包括:

(a)    管理及完善立法會綜合大樓內的參觀活動;

(b)    統籌議員與到訪代表團的會議,並為會議提供秘書服務

(c)    為立法會綜合大樓內的紀念品店拓展新紀念品,並管理紀念品店的日常運作

(d)    監督接待訪客和預約服務的工作

(e)    協助發展供學生和公眾參與的教育和社區活動

(f)     管理及提升立法會綜合大樓內為訪客而設的教育設施;

(g)    擬備與立法會事務和活動有關的新聞稿,並協助傳媒進行相關採訪;及

(h)    協助舉行新聞簡布會,以及處理新聞界和公眾的查詢。

 

入職條件

應徵者應:

(a)    持有認可大學學位;

(b)    具備最少6年從事訪客及教育服務、公共關係及/或新聞工作的工作經驗。曾任職非牟利機構而具備相關經驗者更佳

(c)    具團隊合作精神,有非常良好的分析、溝通及督導能力,並能獨立工作和承受工作壓力;

(d)    具備極佳的中英文講寫能力,最好能操流利普通話;及

(e)    願意於正常辦公時間以外(包括周末及公眾假期)工作。

秘書處可制訂進一步的準則,以選出初步入選的申請人。初步入選的申請人或須參加筆試。


薪酬

此職位的入職薪酬為每月45,155(會按5個按年增薪點增至56,810‍元),並可支取在聘任當日適用於公共資訊主任職級的每月現金津貼(現時的津貼額為每月1,105)。成功受聘人士會按合約條款受聘,為期3年,倘完成服務期而工作表現良好,可獲續約,並會獲得一筆約滿酬金。其款額加上僱主在強制性公積金計劃下所作的供款,相等於合約期內所得底薪總額的15%。附帶福利包括有薪假期、醫療及牙科福利。
