Job Description

SCHOOL OF HOTEL AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT

Executive Assistant (Ref. 19061409-E)

Duties

The appointee will be required to provide assistance to the School’s marketing functions for enhancement of the School’s profile.  He/She will be required to:

(a) assist in organizing marketing events and activities for the School;

(b) assist in online and social media marketing;

(c) assist in the implementation of media projects and marketing campaigns;

(d) assist in the production of marketing communications materials, including the School’s magazine Horizons and e-newsletter SHTM Update;

(e) liaise with staff, students, industry partners and suppliers;

(f) ensure timeliness of information on the relevant web pages of the School’s website;

(g) assist in the update of the School’s database;  

(h) provide clerical and administrative support to the marketing team; and

(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School or his delegate.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree;

(b) have at least one year of working experience;

(c) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua and good translation skills (from English to Chinese and vice versa);

(d) have good interpersonal and communication skills;

(e) be attentive to details, able to perform tasks independently and proactively, as well as a good team player;

(f) be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines; and

(g) have good computer literacy including MS Office and sound Chinese word processing skill.

Preference will be given to those with experience in organizing events.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
