Job Description

As we work on the Strategic priority to Accelerate Profitable growth through expanding our global retail business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vice President of  International Retail. The successful candidate will grow the small but highly profitable International Retail business. This new role will report to the President of International and join the International Leadership Team, whilst also dual reporting to the President Herman Miller Retail. The role will need to implement retail strategies that drive profitable sales growth, cultivate employee engagement and deliver best in class consumer experiences across international. The role could be based either in Asia or Europe but given the current regional volumes our preference is to base it in Hong Kong or another Asian location.

 

To be successful you will need to have

  • 8-10 years of Retail senior management experience including managing commission sales teams selling luxury products with an element of Design at the core. 
  • Strong business acumen including expertise in financial literacy, ability to analyze market data, P&L management, operations and experience in long-range annual planning.
  • Retail- deep experience in direct to consumer and brands with customer as the primary focus.
  • Strong consumer and omni-channel understanding and foresight and an ability to translate these into value added integrated initiatives.

 

On a personal level you will need to be able to demonstrate strong inspirational leadership qualities, and the ability to create and sustain a customer-focused culture. Innovative and creative, you must also have outstanding communication skills. An appreciation for great Design and how to merchandise it effectively would be ideal. A willingness and ability to travel extensively globally, and experience of operating globally and think locally are essential.
