Job Description

The Assistant Manager - Supplier Quality Engineering will perform OWS Contract Manufacturer (CM) and Supplier audits and improvements in all areas of product quality and quality system from IQC to OQC and customer complaints follow up.

 

Purpose of Position:

  • Define and establish processes, procedures, and systems to enable the outsourced CM and suppliers of OWS products to achieve best in class quality products.
  • Provide necessary training and support for developing and managing the CM/suppliers of OWS products.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Defines, trains, and drives team to ensure high quality standards and maintain a culture of continual/continuous improvement.
  • Provides direction and monitor CM and Key components Suppliers to ensure processes and production controls are appropriate and accurately measured.
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods (SPC) relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; and determining levels of confidence.
  • Analyzes data by completing hypothesis,normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests by using Minitab (preferred).
  • Prepares and analyzes weekly quality reports and corrective actions for management.
  • Manages corrective actions and process improvements throughout the supply chain.
  • Resolving issues surrounding specifications, component troubleshooting, and procedures by using Six Sigma Quality Tools, CARs, SCARs, 8D Report, and/or others.
  • Performs regular process audits on all key suppliers to ensure that Product, Processes, and QMS are being followed as required.
  • Leads vendor and supplier qualification efforts in order to assure consistent delivery of products to meet business forecasts.

Education Requirement & Desired Experience:

  • BS degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or Equivalent Experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Chinese (verbal and written)
  • 10 years of Product Quality Engineering, Quality Control, and Quality Audit experience.
  • Automotive, consumer electronics, and/or semi-conductor manufacturing experience working directly with or managing CM and/or Key components suppliers.
  • PCB, PCBA,and Integrated Circuit manufacturing including testing.
  • Able to work effectively with little supervision.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and CQE (preferred)
