Job Description

Role

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for identifying and winning new business, developing regional market strategies, and ultimately driving profitable growth for COSMO.  The person is expected to be hands-on, working with new customers at all stages (Early Design Prototyping to New Product Introduction to Mass Production), in a 'trusted advisor' capacity.   

The Key Account Manager will work in collaboration with the Manufacturing Operations and Program Management teams, leading business development activities for the Asia region.  The ideal candidate has deep experience in Sales, New Product Development, and Project Management, with strong financial judgement and very clear and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize new business targets, determine quality and alignment with COSMO strategy and strengths, create and execute successful customer penetration plans, to deliver profitable manufacturing revenue growth 
  • Establish and lead matrix teams to develop comprehensive, innovative, and proactive proposals and project plans 
  • Analyze and understand customer strategies, future product plans, expansion activities, and competition to develop solutions to customer challenges and create new business opportunities 
  • Cultivate customer relationships, deliver effective and timely proposals, and negotiate contracts to capture profitable new business 
  • Ability to engage in executive level customer conversations 
  • Ensure proposal objectives and deliverables maximize operating profit and revenue growth 
  • Partner with all functions (Design, Engineering, PM, Sourcing) as customers, in a trusted advisor capacity, through the entire design-to-production cycle 
  • Represent and provide market exposure for COSMO at industry events, conferences, and trade shows 
  • Provide feedback to company management on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers by extending company offerings 

Person Specifications

  • Around 10 years of progressive experience in Sales, Business Development, Operations, or Product Development, with a focus on customer-facing roles, in a manufacturing environment 
  • Experience in the contract manufacturing industry 
  • Strong knowledge of program management, product design and development, manufacturing, and supply chain 
  • Strong financial and analytical skills 
  • Independent and self-motivated 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent spokena and written business English, manadarin a significant plus
