BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

 

Working alongside the management team, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for championing business development and customer acquisition strategy by creating, implementing and executing the sales plan.

 

The Business Development Manager will understand the needs of our clients thoroughly (tour group operators/agents, marketing partners, booking websites, individual customers), helping to translate their needs into exciting revenue opportunities for our business.

 

Growth will be measured in three ways:

  1. Contract values;
  2. Ticketing metrics;
  3. Client relationship metrics.


The ideal candidate will have existing senior level contacts in the tour group and tourism industry in China, Hong Kong and Macau and be able to demonstrate an ability to generate leads, negotiate contracts, and develop long-term relationships that deliver revenue. Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Developing our client base (tour group operators/agents, marketing partners, ticketing/booking websites and more);
  • Working with the management team to define and document the sales strategy which includes identifying (and evolving) our offerings and determining resource needs;
  • Implementing the strategy to grow our business, and serve as a role model to your peers by embodying our core values;
  • Managing the sales pipeline to ensure a stable business growth. A key measurement is net revenue and year-on-year revenue growth;
  • Responsible for driving business across markets, where success is measured by the revenue generated from these markets;
  • Collaborating with the management team to support the sales process, including the creation of sales and marketing collaterals and proposals;
  • Identifying new qualified opportunities for ZIPCITY using an established network as well as expanding upon that network whilst in the role;
  • Share insights and demonstrate leadership to employees using case studies that relate to the product we offer. This includes educating team members on industry trends so that they can better advocate our service offerings to our clients.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 5+ years’ experience in sales and marketing role in the tourism or attractions industry, with at least 3 years in a sales management role;
  • Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese, and proficiency in spoken English;
  • Proven experience in proposing and closing tour group/agency contracts;
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities with demonstrated success in leading sales effort and executing sales plans;
  • Superior communication, time-management, relationship management, and presentation skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 

The Business Development Manager will receive a base salary and performance bonuses upon accomplishment of agreed objectives.
