Job Description

The Community Development Manager is the lead for Global Sources’ eCommerce seller community. S/he will be responsible for growing the Global Sources brand awareness among all eCommerce sellers, particularly Amazon sellers, and growing that community’s engagement with GS online and offline services. A mixture of online and offline marketing experience is required to succeed in this position. 

At the same time, s/he will be responsible for managing and growing our own Amazon seller targeted event, the Global Sources Summit, which is held twice per year in Hong Kong.

  

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Community Development: 

  • Champion eCommerce seller community on behalf of Global Sources, both to internal and external stakeholders
  • Engage with eCommerce influencers
  • Present sourcing-related topics at online and offline eCommerce conferences / events
  • Champion usage of Global Sources’ sourcing tools to drive online sellers to inquire and partner with our suppliers
  • Seek partnerships that align Global Sources with the Amazon sellers community
  • Respond to sourcing-related questions in Facebook Groups and other social media channels.
  • Develop  a content plan designed to support the Global Sources eTailer brand inclusive of content sharing partnerships, article and interviews to paid/owned/earned channels
  • Plan and seek opportunities to grow community database for Global Sources (masterminds, meetups, etc)
  • Create webinars, Telegram chat groups and other forms of communication that supports the growth of the Global Sources brand within the eTailer community

  

Global Sources Summit: 

  • Create agenda that contains topics in eTailer/Amazon selling that are relevant and educational
  • Develop a speaker list that includes KOL and industry influencers
  • Manage the sponsorship program at the Summit
  • Develop and implement an effective digital marketing strategy for promoting and selling conference tickets
  • Track and monitor all metrics for the conference
  • Provide Post analysis recommendation
  • Coordinate and oversee all operational aspects of the Summit

 

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor degree or above in Marketing with 5+ years experience
  • Experience developing and managing a community strategy, preferably related to B2B
  • Experience organizing and managing events with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with digital marketing with demonstrated ability to apply innovative practices to drive results
  • Experience working in eCommerce and / or sourcing industries is helpful
  • Outgoing, confident, good presentation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to work independently and in a team environment guiding and coaching team members
  • Team management experience
  • Critical thinking ability
  • Strong planning and multi-tasking skills, and ability to work under pressure
  • Fluency in spoken & written English is mandatory, as well as basic proficiency in Mandarin
