Programme Manager in Nursing Studies and Health Care in the College of Life Sciences and Technology (80% Fractional)

Duties:  The appointee will be involved in the teaching and clinical supervision of Higher Diploma in Nursing students. The scope of duties includes evening teaching, clinical supervision and assessment during students’ clinical attachment, co-ordination and liaison with students, teachers and professional bodies, and attending programme team meetings.  The appointee will also take part in daytime teaching duties for the Higher Diploma programme at HKU SPACE Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Community College.

Requirements:  The candidate should be registered with the Hong Kong Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and be able to practice in Hong Kong.  A Master degree in a related discipline is required and a doctorate degree will be an advantage. Candidates should also have clinical supervisory and teaching experience.  Strong leadership and supervisory skills, ability to manage resources effectively, strong communication and interpersonal skills, with good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required.  Preference will be given to those with strong academic background and relevant professional qualifications.

Terms of Appointment:Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review.  A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract.  Medical and dental benefits, annual leave and the use of sports and library facilities will be provided where applicable.  The School also provides staff development opportunities.
