Job Responsibilities:

• Yarn Sourcing – familiar with mills, source or duplicate correct sweater yarn at the right price for each brand
• Sample Development – translate New York development requests to factories, clarify with New York team on clear development information, sample yarn arrangement with mills, work with factories on sample follow up, sort out any knitting / technical limitations, and provide support in solving problems with mills and factories to avoid late shipments
• Market Research & Development – great fashion sense for developing new items for sweater. For example, new knitting techniques, garment washing & finishing, print, etc and theme board presentations. Responsible for keeping abreast of market intelligence related to material price trends, fashion trends, new resources and opportunities.
• Request, receive and validate Yarn Mill Cards from yarn suppliers, keep updated information with mills
• Input yarn details into the PLM system, maintain and update system data, charts, including specification lead time and yarn pricing
• Responsible for color lab dip arrangements, request, track and receive lab dips, strike offs and hand looms 
• Attend and participate in all necessary Design meetings and present sweater yarn swatch
• Setup and organize the internal yarn and material library

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in sweater yarn sourcing
• Diploma holder or above in Fashion/Textile technology or related disciplines is preferable
• Sound technical knowledge in designated sweater / yarn
• Experience in Buying office is highly preferred
• Able to work independently with good negotiation and organizational skills
• Self-motivated, independent, good communication & interpersonal skills
• Good command of spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin
• Strong computer knowledge in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of PLM system would be an advantage
