Job Description

Planning and Trade Practices Officer (Ref. PTPO-SDF)

Planning and Trade Practices Division

1.5-year fixed-term contract 

Candidates should have:

  1. A recognized university degree or equivalent, a background in Environmental Science, Economics or Statistics is an advantage;
  2. Strong background in research methodologies and practical experiences in quantitative and qualitative methods, data collection, data compilation and analysis with statistical software;
  3. Ability to interpret data, present findings, draft and publish reports that meet a high standard in both content and presentation;
  4. Experience in handling funding application;
  5. Proficiency in writing English and Chinese research proposals and reports;
  6. Good communication and interpersonal skills; and
  7. At least 3 years relevant post-qualification work experiences in conducting opinion survey, statistical analysis and event organization.

Main duties include:

  1. To organize, manage and execute a research project relating to sustainable consumption, including but not limited to conducting of research, drafting of survey questionnaire, monitoring the execution of survey, conducting of statistical analysis of survey findings and organizing of conference;
  2. To prepare administrative documents regarding the project, including but not limited to work schedules, expenditure statements, progress reports and evaluation reports;
  3. To write papers and reports in both English and Chinese for the Council's committee meetings and / or for publication;
  4. To liaise with different stakeholders including government departments, trade associations, professional bodies and consumers in relation to the research project; and
  5. To support the Division’s works as assigned, may need to work outside the office and at non-office hours when necessary.

Terms of Appointment & Fringe Benefits

Appointment will be offered on 1.5-year fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical insurance and MPF.
