Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to VP of Procurement in Corporate Office. Fully responsible for the entire FF&E procurement cycle.
  • To maintain the overall procurement procedure for both the Corporate Office and residential developments, to cover but not limited to, sourcing, pre-qualification, tendering, quality assurance, ethical practices, with a focus to achieve cost saving, value engineering and valued services.
  • To monitor and maintain internal PR/PO e-system. Liaise with internal IT team and system vendor to resolve and enhance operation and system issues where required.

Requirements:

  • A degree holder or above in Interior Design/ Project Management/ Purchasing/ Supply Chain/ Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in project management role on institutional/commercial/retail/hotel/residential development.
  • Experience at Corporate Office or Regional Office is preferred.
  • Experience in group contract management is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of procurement experience in fitting out field or similar position in building materials industry.

      Other Professional Qualifications / Technical Skills / Knowledge required:

  • To take the lead in establishing ethical working practices, across all purchasing functionaries and vendors, through regular review and updating of, the agreed code of ethics as relates to the purchasing function
  • To oversee the fulfilment of the residential development’s purchasing requirements and ensure all are met in a timely, cost effective manner and meeting the quality standards of residential developments.
  • To make suggestions to management concerning possible improvements in purchasing routines and control procedures which may improve purchasing productivity or lower inventory levels, etc.
  • Be responsible for the entire group contract & project procurement activities
  • To regularly monitor procurement team's working capacity and to ensure smooth procurement activities for Corporate Office and residential developments
  • To review and comment for specification/branding requirement, sourcing, budget planning, mock-up room purchases and to ensure timely delivery of items and maximization of savings via group contracts, where applicable.
  • To maintain professionally and submit regular procurement status report
  • To ensure professional procurement services delivered and the results to fulfill project requirement
  • To look for leverage opportunities and develop cluster strategies
  • To maintain awareness of potential sources, products and cost savings opportunities
  • To identify opportunities, qualify and negotiate with potential suppliers to establish Group or Preferred Supplier contracts.
  • To source and identify potential suppliers
  • To perform supplier prequalification and evaluation by conducting questionnaires, interviews, factory inspection visit and reference check
  • To lead the negotiation with suppliers on the contract terms and conditions
  • To conduct supplier performance evaluation regularly
  • To review regularly contracted supplies to ensure rates are still competitive.
  • To drive ongoing improvement in suppliers’ performance relating to cost and product quality
  • To develop and maintain a database of relevant suppliers in the region
  • To monitor and report supplier performance with user departments to ensure high standard of products and services
  • To analyze market trends to anticipate likely price fluctuations, for the purpose of maintaining inventory either for long or short time periods.
  • To review new product lines relevant to the industry, through internet research, trade magazines and attendance at selected purchasing shows/events.
  • To perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Good knowledge of the China / Asian FF&E and building materials supplies
  • Strong leadership with excellent problem solving skills, communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in spoken English and Chinese, proficient in Mandarin is an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated and independent, maintain physical stamina and proper attitude while dealing effectively with management, team members and suppliers
  • Maintain flexible and positive can-do attitude; Able to work under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • A professional, results-oriented and the ability to multi-task handling
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Demonstrate time management skills
  • Strong sense of integrity and a team player
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • Willing to travel
