Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join a rapid growth aircraft leasing company in Hong Kong. You will primarily responsible for managing aircraft and shipping leases, purchase and other related high monetary value transactions, enforces contract compliance, and fosters strong client relationships.

Working in a dynamic and challenging environment, the Leasing Manager is responsible for monitoring client compliance with the terms of the contract, corporate policies, and government regulations. This position is engaged in, among other things, ensuring agreements are accurately managed, liaising with other departments to ensure thorough execution of the lease terms, managing delivery, return, extensions, and sales transactions, support termsheet / LOI preparation and negotiation, and monitoring of client financial and operational performance. The Lease Manager must pay meticulous attention to detail, exercise strong communication skills, be client-focused, and be adept at managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, check and manage lease/purchase/sale stipulations and requirements as well as track critical events, in line with the terms of the agreement and policies and procedures, in order to ensure compliance with the various agreements (Lease, Sale and Purchase);
  • Interact with clients, coordinate and prepare certain Conditions Precedents (CPs) and reconcile any outstanding receivables, as outlined in the contract and per the policies and procedures, in order to ensure delivery and redelivery of aircraft\vessels in accordance with the contractual agreements. Attend delivery events as necessary;
  • Manage and coordinate lease extension closings;
  • Collection of outstanding receivables (including rents, MR, and security deposits), preparing and delivering of notices of default, managing of letters of credits, customer-facing workouts, etc, all with the aim of protection the economic value throughout the life of the lease;
  • Prepare ancillary legal documents and correspondence such as draft relevant Conditions Precedent in line with the terms and conditions set forth in the contract and the policies and procedures;
  • Support preparation and negotiation of termsheet / LOI. Coordinate input from the Company’s technical, finance and other relevant departments and external advisors as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Company’s [Credit Risk Team] to stay abreast of financial performance and operations of our clients
  • Maintain and update various fleet fact/lease summary regularly
  • Prepare airline/ lessor analysis and update regularly      
  • (e.g. prepare summary and comparisons supported by database assessment such as ASCEND, IBA, etc)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • 5 - 7 years of prior corporate contract and project management experience.
  • Experience in the aviation or shipping industry is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in business English and Mandarin
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Understand the impact document terms have on various business areas.
  • Proven ability to work to a very high standard with strong organisational skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines with quick turnaround times;
  • Proven ability to work as part of a small, independent, and pro-active team; handle sensitive and confidential information; and flexible and able to deal with ambiguity;
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proactive about addressing problems and proven problem-solving skills.
  • Able to excel in high-stress situations.
  • Comfortable dealing with diverse, and at times challenging, personalities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel – sometimes at short notice.
