Job Description

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive early supplier involvement and identify cost drivers to influence design decision making and achieve target cost.
  • Ensure that optimized TCO (cost, quality, availability) are assured in product and business creation, and through their full life cycle.
  • Generate savings through cost down projects and new product introduction projects.
  • Consider to be a key partner in significant product cost reduction activities, in early developing phase or in the manufacturing phase.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary special project teams.
  • Drive the sourcing plan and supplier selection to ensure adherence to the company strategy.
  • Manage assigned suppliers and drive their performance improvement, to ensure products supplied to MGI meet the pre-determined standards of quality, delivery reliability, flexibility, lowest integral cost and financial stability.
  • Achieve the assigned supplier’s management improvement of Leadtime reduction, delivery reliability, cost competitiveness and quality improvement etc., to contribute in achieving company target of sustainable profitable growth.
  • Responsible for executing all key purchasing processes with assigned suppliers, e.g. Business review meeting, Annual negotiation, Supplier scorecard, Supplier improvement program.
  • Troubleshoot cost, quality and delivery concerns.
  • Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases.
  • Monitor supplier and vendor compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities are in line with the company’s policy and continuously drive improvement in all areas.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Support in purchasing functional development plan and contribute in optimize organization of purchasing function, sourcing department and FE supply Chain.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, PD, Engineering, Planning and Customer Service, Finance departments to ensure smooth cross functional cooperation and effective team work.

Job Specifications:

  • Minimum 5 – 8 years solid purchasing and project management experience
  • Strong leadership, good integrity, business acumen and strong negotiation skills
  • Good communication, a self-motivated good team player with initiative to work under pressure
  • Good command of both spoken and written Chinese and Englis
  • SAP software experience requiredHigh competency level in MS Office applications
