We are currently recruiting for a Legal Counsel, Region Asia Pacific. This position is based in our Hong Kong office and will report to the Managing Legal Counsel, Region Asia Pacific.

What You’ll Do At Elekta

As the Legal Counsel you will assist and support Region Asia Pacific and all operations in Asia Pacific, working with the Managing Legal Counsel and other legal counsels on legal matters faced by the Elekta Group and in particular on matters arising in Asia Pacific. The work includes the following:

1. To be a service function providing legal services for all entities within the Elekta Group. This includes the managing of internal and external resources and managing purchasing of external services.
2. Together with the Compliance department to survey and control compliance within the Group.
3. To manage legal risk for the Group at an acceptable level, including but not limited to:
   • Purchasing functions
   • Sales and distribution functions
   • Finance solution function
   • Product development function
   • Human Resources function
   • Intellectual property
   • Corporate compliance
4. To manage potential and actual conflicts and support major business development issues, including but not limited to:
   • Negotiation support for major contracts
   • Project support for legal issues in connection with acquisitions/divestitures/restructuring
   • Managing disputes and settlement negotiations
5. Function does not have responsibility for legal issues related to quality and regulatory affairs but supports this function if necessary.
6. General support in business affairs, processes and global and regional business initiatives. 
7. Providing inhouse legal and compliance trainings in Asia Pacific.
8. Overall, global responsibility for all legal issues within Asia Pacific.

What We Are Looking For

To be a suitable candidate for this position, we think you have:

• Good quality law degree from University.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in practicing law within a reputable medium to large law firm or as an in-house counsel in a medium to larger company, preferably in a multinational cooperation.
• Integrity and diplomacy.
• High standard of interpersonal skills and team player.
• Business acumen.
• High level of independence with the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
• High efficiency and tolerance to stress.
• Excellent English skills.
• Tolerance to regular travel
