Responsibilities:

• Responsible for gemstone inspection, authentication, record, conduct instrument maintenance and calibration and other daily activities in the gemological laboratory
• Verify the authenticity and other attributes of the gemstone inspected, preparation of reports, certificates and other related documentations, assure the quality and accuracy of the results
• Assist to verify and audit testing data and information, signing reports/certificates
• Develop relevant documentation and inspection protocols
• Keep update of the latest gemological information within the industry, provide training and instructions to junior and supporting staff
• Handling where necessary in special projects as assigned

Requirements:

• University degree or above in Geology, Chemistry, Materials Sciences or related areas is preferred
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experiences in gemological laboratory
• Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Gemologist
• Should have gemstone qualification certificate such as GIA GG and FGA
• Candidate with a HKAS Approved Signatory is preferred
• Familiar with HOKLAS accreditation and ISO17025 quality system
• Experienced with analytical equipment such as FTIR, Micro-Raman or ICP-MS preferred
• Ability to multi-task and deal with a varied workload, able to work well in a team environment or independently
• Proficient in both English and Chinese for communication & writing
• Candidates will less experience will be considered as Assistant Gemologist
