Position Summary:

The Production Designer (Packaging) is responsible for packaging coordination on design and layout, from beginning to end, and is responsible for assisting the design team in all production aspects of the design process. You will work closely with members of the global Brand Design teams in a fast-paced, creative and intellectually challenging environment.

You’ll Do: 

• Support the execution of new creative ideas such as marketing campaigns, event collateral, and print production
• Responsible for assisting in all production aspects in compliance with Munchkin packaging standards and requirements
• Manage projects from design, print, and production within established deadlines
• Establish production timelines and artwork specifications to meet business needs
• Manage production of graphics through outside vendors from order and art submission by quality check of the final printed piece prior to releasing to production.  Prepare art files for submission to product vendors, packaging suppliers, and internal partners using the appropriate file format.
• Production design in regard to mechanical and die lines for print projects, as well as work with print/product suppliers to refine packaging structure based on the structure design from US Brand Design team. Work with supplier to ensure transit test performs appropriately.
• Responsible for creating and managing mechanical artwork files, color proofing, photo retouch, press check and print production
• Prepare presentation materials, including mock-ups and mounted boards
• Liaise with US Brand Design teams to coordinate projects between Asia product vendors, packaging suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Work with external print vendors to ensure deadlines, quality requirements, and budgets are met
• Communicate and report on project updates with US and UK Brand Design teams, print vendors and factories as needed
• Ensure brand guidelines and industry standards are accurate for print and digital mediums
• Continuously follow through on projects including vendor submissions and FMA reviews
• Work closely with Senior Production Designer to ensure the directions are understood and all deadlines are met
• Other duties may be assigned

Bring It! 

• Minimum 3 years professional experience in Retail/Consumer Packaging Design and production (overseas implementation experience needed)
• Excellent knowledge of graphics, packaging, color proofing, press check, and print production process and practices
• Proficient using Macintosh platform, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Excellent working knowledge of die lines and layout.  Capability of creating mechanical files for production. Ability to work collaboratively with team members
• Excellent time management, interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in Cantonese, Mandarin and English
