Reports To:Head of Group Audit and Risk Management

Job Highlights:

Overall Purpose of Job:

 To work as part of the team to identify control risks within the business and to examine and evaluate the adequacy of controls available to mitigate those risks.  Key activities include:

• Provide assurance that controls within individual business units are operating effectively and can be relied on to provide accurate information.
• Provide assistance and advice to business unit management to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its operations.  
• Assist in the promotion of the best practices in Enterprise Risk Management for business units across the Group.

 Detailed Responsibilities:  

• Undertake audit projects in conjunction with Senior / Supervising Consultants to departmental and other appropriate (e.g. IIA) standards.
• Assist in portfolio management related tasks.  
• Ensure the quality of audit, prepare well-written audit reports, communicate audit results and offer pragmatic recommendations to the business unit management.
• Perform follow-up review to ensure appropriate corrective actions have been implemented.
• Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. Business Unit Finance Directors) to ensure the audit work adequately addresses the key risks in the Group and to facilitate improvements in the business unit’s controls environment.
• Assist in internal projects for continuing development and improvement of the GARM team.
• Carry out ad-hoc projects as required.

Requirements: 

• Educated to degree level plus relevant professional qualification such as CPA or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of risk-focused internal / external audit experience (Big 4 experience would be an advantage), with strong ability to understand and review financial and operational risks and controls within business processes in an integrated fashion.
• Proficient in written and spoken English. Ability to speak and write in Cantonese and Mandarin would be an added advantage. 
• Strong presentation skills and able to communicate effectively with peers and business partners.
• Able to demonstrate strong business acumen and critical thinking skills.
• Sound knowledge of risk management principles.
• Able to multitask and meet key deadlines
• Experience in working with ACL would be an added advantage.
• At least 30% of travel should be expected.
