IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager – Hong Kong

Opus have partnered with an exciting FinTech start-up who are seeking an Infrastructure & Operations Manager to establish and build out their infrastructure department. This is an opportunity to have a big impact on the technology landscape & build the cloud infrastructure, as well as hiring and training engineers to support you.

You will be responsible for both internal user support as well as supporting financial services clients. You will be responsible for ensuring high capacity, performance and availability of the IT Infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

 -Design and implement strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.

-Manage IT Policy, Process and Procedural improvements.

-Build proactive strategies to manage change and ensure continuity of services.

-Explore areas of improvement for environment, datacenters, DR/BCP, cloud environments, etc.

-Set, maintain and improve on IT Service Delivery and Support Processes in order to maintain the standard of the day-to-day operation.

-Work directly with IT Infrastructure and Operations team to ensure effective execution of ongoing support, and encourage innovation, and the implementation of new technologies, to leverage additional support efficiencies.

Operational Management:

-Manage production services to ensure achievement of service levels and quality metrics.

-Maintain ownership and accountability of all service related issues until resolution is achieved.

-Manage problems and problem escalations in accordance with ITIL standards.

-Ensure administration of personnel, including performance evaluations, career goals, training programs, hiring, dismissals, organizing vacation schedules, team building and departmental staff meetings etc.

-Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.

Requirements:

-7+ years of progressive experience in IT data center, infrastructure and operations

-3+ years diverse professional and managerial experience including management leadership and strategic decision making.

-Progressive experience implementing and executing the ITIL framework.

-Strong understanding of data centre operations, AWS operations, distributed network and data centre operations, WAN/LAN design and topology, SD-WAN configuration and management, Cisco/Meraki firewall/load balancer/VPN, Linux servers and architecture, Azure AD, MySQL/PostgreSQL management, log and event management, systems management and monitoring, job scheduling and job monitoring solutions.

-Working knowledge of monitoring and management of serverless AWS environments.

-Must be a highly motivated, responsive individual who can work independently and demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.

-Demonstrated strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills for successful performance of job duties.

-Positive outgoing attitude and experience in interacting with business and external stakeholders
