The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is to assist the CEO and collaborate with the Service Management team in setting and driving operational strategy and talent development programmes in line with the organizational Vision, Mission, Values and corporate strategy.  COO has the responsibility to translate the strategies into actionable goals for all functional department heads and teams in achieving the organizational capacity and operational excellence.  He/she should drive transformational changes to achieve operational and cost efficiency, build a unified and cohesive service culture among the staff team.

Responsibilities:

• Report to Chief Executive Officer in providing day-to-day leadership and strategic management to a service organization which aligns with the Heep Hong Society’s (HHS) vision, mission, values and strategic plan;
• Oversee all functional departments including Accounts, Information Technology, Human Resources, Communication and Corporate Development to sustain the cost and operational efficiency.
• Foster a highly inclusive and respect culture with all members in thriving the organizational and service outcomes; build a unified and cohesive service culture across functional teams to achieve seamless synergy with servicing team.
• Lead the development of fundraising and corporate communication strategies to generate funding and build branding for the Society’s service innovations and delivery.
• Collaborate with the department heads and cross management teams to develop and implement plans for enhancing the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and human assets to accommodate the rapid and expanding growth of HHS and address the future potential threats and opportunities.
• Lead transformational changes to drive continuous improvement in operation, cost and results, able to manage conflict, build consensus, and facilitate problem-solving and collaboration among various parties by optimal utilization of resources.  Be flexible but a strong sense of ethic and service oriented mindset to pursue high level of responsibility and multiple priorities.

Requirements:

• Master in Business Administration or equivalent disciplines
• At least 10 years’ relevant experience, preferably in social service sector, with an understanding of functional service such as HR, Accounts, Communication, Information Technology, Corporate Development, etc.  Experience in fundraising will be a plus;
• Qualified Accountant with HKICPA or ACCA certification will be an advantage
• Passionate and committed on social service sector
• Strategic and forward looking to develop and implement strategies to maximize employee performance and foster high ethical standards in meeting organization’s vision, mission and goals
• Strong leadership skill accompanied with people, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• A good team player equipped with excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation and analytical skills
• Keep abreast of the changes in social service and dynamic environment, technology and service standards with creative and innovative mindset
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably with fluency in Mandarin
• Result-oriented and can-do attitude
