Let’s Get Down To Business

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior demand planning / supply chain professional to take on direct responsibility to gather and challenge local market intelligence, input the market intelligence into the appropriate tool, and understand and maintain cannibalization effects ensuring the right level of communication with the wider business to get the best possible total market forecast.

Here’s a sample of the type of things you will be responsible for:

  • Support area team by collaborating and sharing knowledge of historical events to filter and future gains and/or cannibalization impacts.
  • Involve in creation of market intelligence from local Marketing & Sales departments to get a realistic forecast:
    • Promotional forecast
    • Information regarding distribution gains and losses
    • Information regarding new product launch forecast
    • Information on seasonality
  • Analyze the gap between the forecast and actual demand and monitor forecast accuracy to support, coach and challenge the commercial teams to further improve the market intelligence forecasting.
  • Maintain demand planning master data and other input to the system to assure that demand cascades accurately to supply planning and to ensure better statistical forecast output.           
  • Support the defined best practices in order to control, challenge and upload the market forecast.
  • Collaborate with hub and area DP in analysis of forecast error reports to improve forecast accuracy (net error and absolute error).
  • Collaborate with hub DP on new product set up and forecast, a common understanding on cannibalization effects, promo analysis, code switches and product allocation in case of capacity constraints.
  • Collaborate with hub DP to continually review best practices of MANUGISTICS and other demand planning/ forecasting tools, processes and procedures.
  • Build the pack for the market Demand Review (for S&OP) in collaboration with the market business director and connect to Area S&OP to understand impact of supply constraints.
  • Support the Identification and investigation of root cause of forecast errors.
  • Represent demand planning and promote the good practice and strategy within the market and with key market stakeholders.
  • Support customer service by providing specific information (switches-major events such as NPD and important promotion) pro-actively, for CS to support delivery to customers.
  • Follow up SKU rationalization process and support SLOBs process at market level.

 

Show Us What You’ve Got

You will have minimum 2 years of demand planning experience gained within a commercial FMCG business. You must be fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

In this role, it is important that you are able to work assertively, flexibly and collaboratively with individuals and teams located externally. Professional experience is important, but it’s paramount you share our values and belief in ‘challenge to win’.

Here are some of the requirements we are looking for:

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or related disciplines
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Team-player with the ability to work in matrix environment and varied cultural teams
  • Strong analytical thinking and results-oriented
  • Customer Focus on strong needs identification capacity
  • Good influential skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently
