Job Description

The Corporate Quality Department defines and delivers Quality Management Systems and Quality Assurance across operational departments in Cathay Pacific.

We are looking for a highly motivated, organized, committed and proactive team player seeking a challenging and rewarding career in Quality.

Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, the incumbent will work closely with the Quality team, other internal departments, including FOP, ISD, ENG, and CX ports, to ensure the successful delivery, monitoring and measurement of CX quality programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting and administering implementation and maintenance of an effective quality assurance system including quality audit oversight activity.
  • Support the implementation of the CX quality system within ISD including in particular the terms of reference and the creation of process manuals for all operational support activity.
  • Support and coordinate with Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) feedback and review of quality system performance and effectiveness.
  • Assist with administration and coordination of the internal quality oversight audit programme covering all ISD internal functional activities and onboard safety related processes.
  • Work with relevant functional areas and related sections in ISD to assist with documentation of all relevant inflight operations, process, service procedures and policies.
  • Co-ordinate and monitor effective document and record control systems including format, distribution and revision control for ISD.
  • Ensure the integrity of Cathay Pacific cabin safety policies and procedures are maintained at all times.
  • Fully support ISD quality and safety outcomes including implementation and monitoring of the relevant safety and quality activities and processes to ensure ongoing compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards and approved procedures.
  • Conduct audits and inspections as part of the Cathay Pacific Audit Programmes, including audit of third party suppliers (regular international travel will be required) and Departmental Internal Audit Programme.
  • Monitor and track audit action items progress in Aviation Quality Database (AQD) on behalf of QAM.
  • Monitor AQD is up to date at all times and the rate of action closure is at an acceptable level.
  • Support QAM in preparation for and presentation of the annual Management Review with Senior Management.
  • Coordinate with relevant sections to document the Risk Register and provide quarterly updates to senior management in the context of tracking mitigation progress.
  • In conduction with QAM, assist in preparation and assist in representing ISD for the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).
  • Work with QAM to ensure that all positions affecting operational safety and security are filled by personnel who have appropriate knowledge, skills, training and experience.  Ensure all personnel who perform operationally critical functions maintain competence and continue to satisfy any mandatory technical competency requirements.
  • Continuously review the Operational Quality System and its component parts to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness as well as assessing opportunities for improvement.
  • Recovering the costs of quality by eliminating costs incurred due to failure and/or poor performance within the operational quality system.
  • Deputize for QAM when required to cover extended absences.
  • Attain and maintain Cabin Crew Safety training certification and maintain recency
  • ISD Internal Oversight Audit Programme - Lead Auditor

Requirements:

  • University degree
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in airline or related industry
  • Quality Assurance and Auditing Qualifications/Experience preferred
  • Familiar with Cabin Crew Safety Procedures
  • Aviation Quality Database experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluent command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; data and process-literate
  • People management, change management and project management skills
  • Sound planning and organization skills
  • Excellent computer literacy e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, MS Word, Database systems
  • Strong coaching skills
  • Willing to travel for business purposes
