General Manager - Product Development (Ref No. HKJC-050-2013)

A reputable HK based Food & Beverage Conglomerate is looking for a high-calibre General Manager. The incumbent has to pursue / promote high quality product standard, through the implementation of modern system and design in manufacturing and interchange of technical expertise and knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• To lead & supervise the regional product development team for China & HK in developing new products, improving existing products and reviewing present formulation for all markets relating to Beverage products.
• Reformulates existing products to perfect its flavor profile and reduce product costs.
• Liaises with Marketing Department to plan for upcoming new products.
• Reviews and updates current raw material specifications.
• Reviews all formulations and labelling for compliance with the food regulations and policies of the respective countries.
• Provide support to Sourcing Department in evaluating alternate source. Prepare relevant product specifications upon approval.
• Prepares relevant ISO documents for new products, reformulated products, etc. for non soy & non dairy products.
• Prepares project timeline & product information with Marketing & other depts.
• Conducts research on technical aspects of new products and technology.
• Assists in evaluating OEM plants and conducting plant commissioning.
• Sets departmental objectives & KPI as well as individual objectives.
• Liaises with other departments in the Company for job related functions.
• Prepares annual budget and managing the expenses under her control.
• Reviewing label declarations to ensure their compliance to food regulations and requirements of the relevant markets.
• Trains and develops subordinates and colleagues of related department technically.
• Performs trouble shooting to locate processing faults.

Requirements:

• University graduate major in Food Science, Food Technology or related subject
• 15 years of relevant experiences in Food & Beverage industry
• Experience in product planning and development will be highly preferred
• Understanding of Nutrition Label requirements
• Strong marketing sense with good analytical skill
• Good interpersonal, communication and time-management skills
• Well-organized, responsible, creative, sensible and initiative
• Good command of written Chinese and spoken Putonghua
  • Station in Hong Kong with frequent travels to China
