Job Description
This position is responsible for accounting and human resource administrative functions required for financial management and compliance to all applicable laws. This position reports to the Executive Director.
In this role you will:
Responsible for the accounting operations of the organization, including but not limited to, the
production of financial reports, maintenance of a compliant system of accounting records, and
a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the
organization’s reported financial results. This position will prepare and maintain records that
are reviewed and used by an outside CPA firm to prepare tax returns and perform the annual
financial audit.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversee processing of accounts payable and receivable and ensure prompt collection of receivables
- Prepare accounting reports related to payroll
- Oversee and maintain contracts with related vendors
- Maintain an orderly and accurate financial filing system
- Assist and Work with the executive director in ad hoc projects
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements
- Supervise the recording of cash receipts and bank deposits
- Performs monthly reconciliations of bank accounts
- Ensure all bills and invoices are paid in time of receipt
- Work with the auditor to facilitate the completion of the annual audit
- Maintain updated policies and ensure compliance to all policies
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Process Payroll in an accurate and timely manner
- Ensure accurate and timely compliance with all duties related to the Department of Labor
- Maintain employee personnel files and health insurance enrollment
- Serve as point of contact for all payroll/benefits inquiries and complaints, ensuring prompt, courteous and appropriate resolution
We want you to have:
2+ years of work experience in either a Bookkeeping or Accounting WITH HR function.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
Strong financial system skills including general ledger management, budgeting, and reporting
Advanced competency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Google Docs & Spreadsheets, and accounting software
Superior attention to detail, research, organizational and problem-solving skills
Stellar communications skills, both in-person and in writing
Positive attitude, and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Demonstrates sound judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential information
Solution mindset with the ability to make independent decisions regarding planning, organizing, and scheduling work
Previous experience working in a creative environment a big plus
Working Hours
Mon - Fri (9:00-18:00) with 1 hour lunch break;
Bank Holidays.
