The Finance Controller will report to Multi-Country Leader Asia MCM CFO, leading the Hong Kong Finance Team and  directly responsible for preserving financial integrity, financial strategy and efficient finance operations.

The job holder will lead an organization focused on analyzing, monitoring, and driving improved business performance through financial analysis and strategy. Key focus areas include, financial strategy, financial planning, regulatory engagement and reporting, board reporting and Solvency II capital management. You will lead the process of transforming the Finance organization, partnering closely with Asia MCM FinOps Leader on process change management and SAP GL implementation. You will manage external local and regional relationships with banks, auditors, and tax authorities.

Responsibilities:

• Preserve the financial integrity of Hong Kong in supporting the Global Retail Market (GRM) Finance
• Lead the process of Hong Kong Book close of local regulatory reports, reviews and solvency reports II, group and tax accounting policies, internal control environment and other regulatory compliance reviews
• Lead IFRS 17 and RBC implementation
• Collaborate with Asia MCM FP&A Team to drive annual financial planning process and collaborate with the Transformation team on strategic review processes
• Partner with the Asia MCM FinOps Leaders to lead and implement new General Ledger SAP
• Communicate, influence, and collaborate across multiple functions and organizations to operate effectively in the Asia MCM organization.
• Manage external local and regional relationships with regulators, banks, auditors, actuaries and tax authorities.
• Optimize ROE/capital structure in collaboration with the Home Office team.
• Oversee treasury management within Hong Kong.
• Drive and own execution of expense management initiatives with a focus on operating efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

• More than 10 Years of Finance management experience with demonstrated leadership ability in finance, prefer experience in on insurance of property/casualty industry
• Bachelor Degree holder or above in Finance or Accounting  with a Chartered Accountant or CPA is a must 
• Strong understanding of the Insurance Business, key business and performance drivers
• Deep knowledge of local regulatory reporting framework, IFRS and strong understanding of accounting principles with the ability to interpret financial statements & data. Knowledge of US GAAP is an advantageous
• Experience in general ledger implementation is an advantageous
• Superior analytical and critical reasoning skills with an ability to effectively communicate and covey messaging to executives
• Familiar with the Regulatory and Solvency requirements
• Solid understanding of financial strategy, business goals, planning and all other finance areas
• Strong presentation skills and advanced MS Excel user
