In Sourcing, you’ll apply your apparel and accessories and/or home goods expertise to promote and apply responsible sourcing practices while driving the success and growth of Target’s owned brands. The Sourcing team starts at the very earliest stages of product development, builds out the costing models and tracks where product stands at every step in the production cycle, from overseas shipping to our import warehouses, distribution centers and stores.

And since Target is indeed a global company, you’ll be part of the team that manages global relationships in partnership with the buying team who shop for trends all over the world. Your ability to stay aware of our suppliers’ activities will help ensure compliance with responsible practices, and you’ll have influence over which manufacturers Target chooses to work with. You’ll be a close point-of-contact with Target team members in sourcing offices located in 20 countries around the globe, and you’ll support their work as liaisons among buyers, product developers and overseas partners.

As a Manager Responsible Sourcing - Assessments, you will be part of the team that is evolving the responsible sourcing oversight function that allows us to be a progressive force for good. 

• Lead and manage the team responsible for managing audit scheme evaluation, audit intake and other risk data across a limited scope of programs
• Collaborate on process design and implement standards to intake assessment and oversight data in order to understand risk and drive supply chain performance 
• Drive calibration activities internally and with 3^rd parties to ensure consistent interpretation and adherence to national and local law
• Develop the team’s subject matter expertise in Target’s Standard of Vendor Engagement and national laws and regulations to manage compliance to human rights and environmental compliance
• Build and maintain a working knowledge of national laws and regulations to enable consistency and credibility through the oversight process in managing our global supply chain
• Develop team subject matter expertise with industry schemes to understand data structure related to occupational health & safety, human rights, environmental compliance
• Manage the corrective action process and escalate to internal partners to ensure capability building or risk mitigation can be properly applied
• Maintain high quality to ensure credible data for macro trend reporting and analytics
• Collaborate with business integration and supply chain management teams to report on performance and sustainability efforts
• Collaborate with cross functional teams as needed to drive responsible sourcing and sustainability initiatives as needed
• Manage workload to ensure timely review and processing to enable sourcing and production.
• Communicate and escalate workload
• Intake and analyze quality assurance measures and work with leaders to develop performance data to influence stakeholder engagement

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or above
• 5-7 years of experience
• Expert knowledge of global labour, health & safety regulations, and/or environmental regulations/issues
• Strong knowledge of international manufacturing supply chain practices
• Strong facilitation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into simple, clear communications and scenario building. 
• Strong strategic and conceptual thinking with the ability to plan, organize and execute.
• Ability to analyze information to drive business decisions, manage project plans and resources.
• Strong leadership, performance and change management skills
• Respects, appreciates and is curious about differences related to working with others; committed to fostering an inclusive team
• Ability to work in a global environment

Desired Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of local labor laws and regulations
• Ability to speak more than one language (e.g. Mandarin)
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications
