Intellectual Property Manager – South Asia

Reporting to: Intellectual Property Director Asia Pacific & China (Civil)

Main Responsibilities

1. Intellectual Property protection and enforcement in South Asian and Pacific market;
2. Pro-active Civil, Criminal & Customs Enforcement work within the markets. Support all IP Department functions (e.g enforcement, portfolio management and internet matters);
3. Develop and enhance the Civil, Criminal & Customs Enforcement network in co-operation with South Asia business teams and retail network;
4. Continuous information exchange in the field of Civil, Criminal and Customs Enforcement (e.g. briefings/trainings at workshops);
5. Coordinating/Planning/Executing/Monitoring/Reporting of IP Enforcement measures that are conducted in co-operation with the Asia Pacific Team as well as local investigators and enforcement bodies;
6. Building and maintaining a close relationship with central/provincial/municipal government and non-government institutions as well as with other brands dealing with similar problems in the field of IPRs;
7. Develop and conduct seminars and awareness programs for stakeholders and LV stores;
8. Establish a comprehensive database with all relevant Brand Enfocement information in the zone. Continuous up-date thereof;
9. Work closely with the local business teams in alignment with IP Director to assist the markets in IP protection and enforcement;
10. Work closely with store teams to train them and share information on genuine and counterfeit goods;
11. Be a direct contact to support law enforcement agencies (especially Customs and Police) through product trainings, verifications and enforcement actions;
12. Assist external partners during raid actions against manufacturers, distributors and retailers of infringing goods and services;

Standard Level of Competencies

1. Minimum 8 years’ experience in Intellectual Property matters in multi-national companies or international law firm;
2. Legal qualification or legal education a must;
3. Excellent command of spoken and written English, Mandarin a plus;
4. Pleasant, mature, outgoing and willingness to learn;
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
6. Exceptional planning, organization and coordination skills;
7. Detail conscious, flexible and able to work under pressure.
