Job Description

 

Our client is a multinational luxury products company with global brands.  Due to the aggressive growth plan in the Greater China Region, they urgently need to appoint a high calibre Area Sales Manager to be responsible to develop, manage and drive forward the duty free retail operations of the company’s expanding product portfolio.

 

Responsibilities:

  • To develop, manage and drive forward the duty free retail operations of the brand in Greater China region
  • This role will encompass the selling in and selling through of the product ranges in the duty free outlets and will include the implementation of all plans with regard to marketing and sales promotional activities for the travel retail market
  • To develop activity plans by account and presentation of all plans and marketing programs to Duty Free operators and sales staff
  • To train, manage, supervise and motivate Duty Free sales staff to proactively implement all promotional programs and to meet sales objectives
  • To negotiate prime space and locations in each store coupled with the maintenance of a high profile counter image
  • To establish, negotiate and maintain acceptable stock and sales plans by account in line with corporate and / of regional goals and marketing plans
  • To plan, submit and achieve yearly sales and A&P / sell out expense budgets and to control relevant expenditures.  To submit regular Activity Reports to Regional Director
  • To work in co-ordination with regional visual merchandising team to set up and implement merchandising programs and planograms by account, in line with the  corporate recommendations
  • To follow through all priorities and projects assigned by the Regional Director

 

Requirements:

  • University graduate with major in a business, marketing or related discipline. MBA graduate preferably
  • 4 to 8 years of solid and successful experience in sales development and management in a high-end quality / luxury consumer goods or beauty industry in relevant markets
  • Good knowledge of duty free retail operations is advantage
  • Hands-on experience in China market is a essential
  • Fluency in English and Chinese
  • Strong management and mentoring skills with ability to guide, develop and administer supporting sales staff
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to clearly articulate the goals and objectives to sales staff and to duty-free owners / buyers.  Strong negotiation skill is crucial
  • Must be a result-driven and objective-oriented achiever
  • Ability to manage projects, plan budgets, prioritize multi-tasking and control deadlines
