This position is based in Hong Kong.

The Web Developer / Administrator will work closely with our publishers and producers to develop functions and features tailored for specific local markets, supporting marketing teams to develop online marketing promotions that may include Flash, JavaScript and other technologies and maintain XML/XHTML localization.

Travelzoo may decide to launch a technical infrastructure and development for Mobile services and web site capabilities in the future. In this context, demonstrated awareness of Location Based Services, uses of GPS in connection with cell phones and related technologies are not required but would be a plus.

Requirements:

• Degree holder of Computer Science or related discipline
• Minimum 2 years experience in web development, preferable to have work experience in online media industry or similar fast paced environment
• Most of all, experience in Web Application Development: VB, .NET, C#, ASP.NET, MS-SQL
• Web Programming languages eg: HTML, CSS, HML, J2ME, Flash Java Script and AJAX
• Version/configuration tracking and development tools: Visual ScourceSafe  and Visual Studio
• Internet advertising practices: click/impression tracking, web behavior, logging/optimization
• Knowledge in SEO and localization would be an advantage
• Self-motivated team player able to work well with pan Asian and international teams
• Strong sense of responsibility and eagerness to learn
• Willingness to pitch in as needed whether in Development or Systems Administration
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
