Job Description
As Senior Equipment Engineer in VSL, you will be involved in:
Procurement
- Source and procure equipment for different projects in Asia according to design specification.
- Review on the compatibility of equipment
- Prepare pricing comparison for equipment, steel fabrication and shipping
- Manage technical issues from suppliers and liaise with the Technical Centre (TC) when necessary
- Follow up the fabrication, QA/QC document and testing reports with suppliers
- Visit the suppliers for final inspection and commissioning of the equipment
Fabrication
- Ensure drawing revisions and latest information are being communicated to Fabricator
- Manage sub-contractors such as inspection bodies
- Prepare and issue weekly and commissioning / inspection report
- Monitor programme and liaise with Project / Technical Centre in terms of trial assembly visit and delivery
- Carry out Hydraulic installation and test
- Arrange shipping of fabricated product
- Participate in final account discussion with Client and Project Team
Major Equipment Costing
- Prepare Major Equipment Costing Summary for review and approval
- Assist in Tendering for other Profit Centres
Inspection
- Visit Site and/or Workshop to monitor progress and quality
- Prepare inspection report for submission
You have:
- Bachelor Degree Qualification in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or other related construction qualification
- Minimum 5 years related work experience
- Excellent command of written & spoken English
You are :
- Commercial: You can build strong relationship with the suppliers and the fabricators to assure the equipment supplies and fabrication process are up to date.
- Knowledgeable about civil works : You understand the civil work equipment and fabrication process
