Proco Associates is partnering with a prominent global leader in the FMCG industry that has a significant manufacturing footprint in Asia including China. The Procurement head office in Hong Kong is currently in search of a Procurement Manager to drive Packaging Materials sourcing for 40+ factories in Greater China.

This is a purely strategic role. You will be part of a very established procurement structure and culture and you will be expected to effectively manage an annual spend of over RMB 1 billion. Owing to the volume and the level of maturity of the business, there are many tools available internally to help the Procurement Manager to drive results (including cost-saving results) in an environment that encourages flexibility and innovation. In addition to typical procurement KPI's such as boosting cost savings, the company has also placed huge amounts of focus on longer-term goals including sustainability initiatives.

Some of the main challenges and most interesting attributes of the role revolve around internal stakeholder management. You will be exposed to cross-functional stakeholders who come from a variety of company backgrounds - U.K./Europe, U.S., Hong Kong and mainland China. Our client expects the Procurement Manager to have excellent soft skills and negotiation abilities, as well as acute sensitivity to the needs of different stakeholders when trying to achieve your end-goals.

Proficiency in English and Mandarin are mandatory. Ideally the candidate will have experience sourcing for Packaging Materials (or other related Raw Materials) in a multi-cultural environment. FMCG experience will be a bonus.
