Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, report and support the shipment & supply service level of Sainsbury’s vendors & origins. Ensure On-Time cargo handover as per agreed KPIs or targets;
  • Work closely with Sainsbury’s UK logistics/import team, Sainsbury’s merchandising and technical teams to ensure shipments & project critical paths are managed and delivered.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party logistics providers and designated Asian suppliers, to ensure proper logistics processes and guidelines are in place and follow by all related parties & suppliers.
  • Assist the operations lead to ensure timely delivery of monthly shipment performance and other regular reports to the merchandising team. Ensure action plans are in place with poor performing vendors after review with relevant merchandising and technical team;
  • Supporting to ensure all new suppliers understand all of our shipping SOPs and guidelines through briefings;
  • Support merchandising & other functional teams on all sort of shipping or logistics issues or enquiries;
  • Improving utilisation of assets and reduction of LCL containers by coordinating improvement with 3rd party logistics providers and suppliers by supporting with load plans and prioritising shipments.
  • Assist & support the Supply Operations Lead in developing, implementing and       rolling out of supply chain strategies and new initiatives to support business growth;
  • Assist in training suppliers through emails/phone calls/ online sessions on load compliance.
  • Factory visits (APAC) where suitable to deliver key messages and training to suppliers.
  • Providing support to other team members as and when required.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication in English & influencing skills;
  • University graduate is a minimum requirement, preferably in supply chain management, logistics or business studies;
  • At least or above 2 years supply chain experience, preferably in import-export logistics/supply chains; we will accept new graduates who have a track record of high achievement and some business experience.
  • Strong analytical, structural planning and problem solving skills;
  • Production/manufacturing & trading knowledge would be an advantage;
  • Fluent, both written and verbally, in English and local language;
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • Ability to Multi Task and prioritise own workload
  • Travel within China is required on a regular basis and the candidate is required to be mobile to the rest of Asia on occasion
  • Fresh graduates are also welcome
