About Research

The Dealogic Research team serves as the content experts on global capital markets within Dealogic and delivers world class content to Dealogic clients. The group is responsible for the collection and validation of vast amounts of market intelligence and data and thereby instrumental to the organization’s global success.

About You

The role carries a high level of responsibility to foster the knowledge, skills and morale of a dynamic and talented research team that can efficiently compile high-quality global M&A data for consumption by clients and the media. The successful candidate should demonstrate a high level of motivation and proactivity, resilience when handling multiple priorities, composure and professionalism in resolving issues with teammates, colleagues and clients from various knowledge backgrounds, as well as a deep understanding in the relationship between M&A research and Dealogic’s business.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Research Associate will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day operations, providing a conduit between junior researchers and team manager, as well as maintaining connectivity with other departments and external contacts.

Data Reconciliation

  • Manage and monitor advisory tombstone checks within team
  • Process M&A deal submissions and queries in a timely manner
  • Resolve advisory role, valuation or structure challenges in a timely manner
  • Identify gaps in advisory coverage and proactively expand contacts

Data Content Marketing

  • Promote M&A content in the company and in public by producing M&A Insights, infographics, thought leadership, print or video interviews

Research & Data Gathering

  • Continually monitor and capture news and updates about significant or complex M&A deals globally

Data Entry & Validation

  • Monitor data content and quality and address issues
  • Input and validate data for significant or complex M&A deals in a timely fashion
  • Check data to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information

Project Management

  • Initiate, implement and manage data projects on M&A content

Training & Support

  • Provide M&A-related training to all Dealogic staff
  • Provide support to Research staff on complex M&A deals
  • Provide support to Relationship & Media on M&A content issues; assist in problem solving

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in a research related role
  • Excellent spoken and written English (CEFR C1/C2)
  • Excellent reading comprehension of written Chinese
  • Ability to work independently; Ability to work under pressure; Ability to collaborate with colleagues globally
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail; Proactive approach to work;
  • Strong interest in financial markets
  • Good command of spoken Mandarin Chinese (PSC Level 1 or 2)
  • Good command of another foreign language (CEFR B1+)
  • Experience using MS Excel to create reports/analysis
  • Experience using SQL, Python or other data science tools
