This position exists within the Hong Kong Publishing team to support the publication of the new product range.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • adapting local and overseas published content to the Hong Kong legal market and the new product model
  • preparing new content for the Hong Kong legal market based on the model,
  • refining the product’s scope of contents, and ensuring the ongoing development of the product is in line with current market practice and requirements,
  • offering an authoritative opinion on the content and functionality of the product,
  • liaising with external editors for QA and review,
  • assisting editorial staff in the speedy and accurate processing of content for publication,
  • assisting commissioning staff with external relationship management.

Requirements:

  • University degree in JD/ LLB or equivalent discipline
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong legal practice, supported by a postgraduate legal qualification (PCLL or comparable foreign equivalent) and local work experience
  • Strong understanding of lawyers' workflow practises and research behaviours
  • Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience in a legal environment, preferrably a commerical law firm
  • Demonstrated legal research skills
  • Excellent reading comprehension skills
  • Prior editing or writing experiences
  • Knowledge of publishing workflow
  • Experience in project management and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Framemaker etc.
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
