Senior Scientist

Job Description:           

• Conduct rational experiment design
• Independently conceive and execute hypothesis driven research projects
• Interpret results and draw conclusions from own multistage experiments, note significant deviations, then suggest, design, and pursue relevant experiments
• Train and guide colleagues in established methodology, troubleshooting of assays and interpretation of experimental data
• Make strong contributions to the research team's scientific strategies
• Develop scientific presentations and reports for internal review meetings and external collaborators
• Any other duties as assigned

Job Requirement:

• Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Life science, or a related discipline, from either a local university, or a non-local university among the top 100 institutions for the above subjects in the latest publications in any of QS, Shanghai Jiao Tong University or Times Higher Education ranking tables.
• Be legally permitted to work in Hong Kong.
• Fresh PhD graduates are also welcome.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good research experience in cell culture and molecular biology
• A strong background in using model organisms (i.e., mice/rat) to study metabolic disease will be an advantage
• Able to work under pressure.

Associate Scientist/Scientist

Job Description:

• Independently design and conduct cell culture assay and basic molecular biology experiments (e.g. Western blotting, flow cytometry) on a daily basis
• Perform routine and complex tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results
• Assist daily laboratory operations, such as reagent preparation and equipment maintenance
• Understand relevant scientific literature and apply theoretical framework to interpret and solve problems within scientific discipline
• Develop compelling scientific presentations and reports for internal review meetings and external collaborators
• Any other duties as assigned

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Biochemistry, Biological science or a related discipline awarded by a local university or jointly awarded by a local university together with a non-local university.
• Be legally permitted to work in Hong Kong.
• Fresh Graduates will be considered.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in cell culture and/or molecular biology techniques will be an advantage.
• Able to work in a team under the guidance of senior staff.
