Our client is a leading corporate advisory and consulting company with a broad reach and offices across the globe.  Working hand in hand with their clients, they are instrumental in working together to manage business critical issues in a complex and challenging environmental, business and political landscape.  As a result of ongoing growth, they are now looking for a high calibre Research Manager to help upskill the regional team.

As part of the group function, you will report directly to the Head of Research in the corporate headquarters and work with the Partners across Asia.  You will be responsible for:

• Reviewing and managing the local resources in the team; provide coaching and mentorship to upskill and add value to the business
• Work with the Partners and senior level management to understand their strategic plan for client development and help join the dots
• Develop, compile and deliver innovative and high quality analytical research to help the business prepare better for new, prospective and existing clients
• Be the expert and go-to person for all competitive and business intelligence, market trends and deep-dive analysis
• Be able to communicate both verbally and in written reports in a concise manner, being able to identify and summarise key data, statistics and concepts

This is a key position for the Asia Pacific region, and is a high profile and pioneering role for the firm.  Suitable candidates will have the following:

• 6-10 years’ experience of working in a senior research capacity within an Investment Banking, Consulting or Professional Services firm environment
• Solid experience of financial research platforms such as Thomson One, Bloomberg, Factset etc
• Proven ability to conduct research across diverse industry sectors both in banking and corporate commercial sectors
• Good numeracy and ability to read financial information, assimilate and interpret findings in layman terms
• Strong communication skills, including reading and writing of reports, have an ability to summarise complex data in a succinct format for presentations to senior management
• Confidence, executive presence and gravitas to work with the business and the senior management team
• Independence and self-sufficiency to be able to problem solve and bring solutions to the business
• An ability to think laterally and out of the box; influence and gain buy-in for innovation and different concepts
• Good business knowledge of the Asia and China region, and ability to share knowledge of the business landscape of this region to global counterparts
• Strong project management skills and a proven ability to work calmly whilst under pressure to meet tight timelines
• Fluency in English is essential and Chinese, both reading and writing is highly desired
